Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy A36 early next month. The device may go official on March 2, though sales may not begin until a few days later. Ahead of that, a major leak has revealed its detailed specs. We also have fresh images showing off its design and colors.
Leaked Galaxy A36 specs reveal no surprises
The Galaxy A36 shares a lot of things with its pricier sibling, the Galaxy A56 — see its detailed specs here. Samsung offers the same screen on both phones, meaning a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution (2340 x 1080 pixels) and a 120Hz refresh rate. However, the A36 downgrades from Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus protection to Gorilla Glass 7+, a new glass technology from Corning.
The upcoming Samsung mid-ranger runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. The Korean firm may pair the SoC with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, while storage configurations may include 128GB and 256GB. Do not expect a microSD card slot here. Samsung is gradually retiring the microSD card slot from its phones. Thankfully, the 3.5mm headphone jack is still there on this model.
Like all recent Galaxy phones, the Galaxy A36 will ship with Android 15-based One UI 7.0. The new version is Samsung’s biggest OS update yet. It completely redefines the Galaxy experience, more so in flagship models. The Galaxy A36 retains the same 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging. Its cameras include a 12MP selfie shooter, a 50MP primary rear camera, a 5MP macro lens, and an 8MP ultrawide camera.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.3, GPS, NFC, OTG, and 5G. The Galaxy A36 has stereo speakers and an optical under-display fingerprint scanner. It has a plastic frame and is IP67-rated for water and dust resistance. The phone measures 162.7 x 77.9 x 7.4mm and weighs 195 grams. Samsung will soon take wraps off the Galaxy A36, so stay tuned.
