Samsung confirms Galaxy Watch 8 series will run One UI 8 Watch

As always, One UI 8 Watch puts a strong focus on health-related features. We’ve separately detailed all the new features Samsung has officially announced so far, which you can check out for a quick overview. While the beta program is set to roll out later this month, the stable version of One UI 8 Watch could follow soon after.

Galaxy Watch 8 Classic

According to rumors, the Galaxy Watch 8, Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 may debut alongside the new foldables next month. That leads us to believe the full launch could take place on either July 9 or July 15. Either way, it won’t be long before we see One UI 8 Watch in action.

Speaking of what we’re expecting, aside from the new health features, we might also see a major revamp. A previously leaked One UI 8 Watch build may have already given away quite a bit, and today’s health-focused announcement seems to confirm much of it. Most notably, Gemini will fully replace Google Assistant. You can also expect a range of new watch faces, along with the Now Bar and support for double-pinch gestures.

Previous leaks have also suggested that Wear OS 6, which One UI 8 Watch is based on, will bring noticeable improvements to the always-on display. That includes being able to view and use media controls without lifting your wrist. Material 3 Expressive design is also making its way to Galaxy Watches.
