How To Watch SDC Korea 2024, Which Could Tease One UI 7.0

by | Nov 20, 2024 | News, One UI

Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) Korea 2024 is upon us. As scheduled, it will kick off at 10 AM Korea Standard Time (8 PM ET, 5 PM PT, 6:30 AM IST) on Thursday, November 21. You can tune in to the live stream by following this link or by watching the video embedded below.

It’s happening in addition to the main event, the Samsung Developer Conference in the United States. You might wonder why the Korea-specific Developer Conference is making waves. It’s because Samsung introduced One UI 6.0 during SDC 2023. However, at SDC 2024, Samsung didn’t delve much deeper into One UI 7.0, though we somehow managed to get a peek at the upcoming One UI 7.0 Camera app. So, we’re keeping our hopes high for the Samsung Developer Conference Korea.

What to expect at the Samsung Developer Conference Korea 2024

The lineup looks exciting, with the possibility that Samsung could unveil One UI 7.0 during the SDC Korea event. Though it’s a rumor for a while, so we’ll have to see if it proves true.

Samsung Electronics President Jeon Kyung-hoon will deliver the opening speech, followed by two keynotes from Lee Ju-Hyung and Go Hyun-mok, and Jung Jae-yeon and Kwon Ho-beam, respectively. In total, Samsung will touch upon several topics at length in 29 sessions.

Could One UI 7.0 be on cards at SDC Korea 2024?

While the SDC Korea’s session notes don’t mention anything about One UI 7.0 specifically, there is still hope. If things go well, there’s a good chance Samsung could begin rolling out the first batch of One UI 7.0 to select devices.

There are several reasons why Samsung’s One UI 7.0 release is delayed. One of these includes rumors suggesting that Samsung plans to revamp the One UI skin with a smoother user experience, more AI features, and additional improvements. Another possibility is that Samsung might be trying to follow in the footsteps of its rival, Apple, which typically teases software at its WWDC event in June but only releases it after the new iPhones are launched in the fall.
