Google Play Store is Reportedly Crashing For Some Users

by | Jan 29, 2025 | News

Getting the “Google Play Store keeps stopping” error on your Galaxy phone, tablet, or any Android device? Well, it’s reportedly hitting a bunch of users right now. In our testing on the Galaxy S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra, though, everything’s running just fine. We didn’t encounter any crashes or warnings while launching the Play Store.

“Google Play Store keeps stopping”

The Google Play Store is running into an annoying crash issue on Android, as spotted by 9to5Google. The publication reports and adds that it throws a “Google Play Store keeps stopping” message while launching. Anyone who’s been using Android for a while maybe already aware of such messages. It pops up when apps run out of resources, or there’s some backend app issue.

It’s not causing bigger problems, yet the random crashes are still a headache. There’s no fix in sight, except you can keep trying to open the Play Store app. Thankfully, downloads and installations are unaffected, so it’s more of a nuisance than a dealbreaker. If you’re caught in this loop, your best bet is to sit tight and wait for a backend fix. For now, it’s the usual drill — force close, reopen, and cross your fingers it doesn’t keep acting up.

As of now, Google hasn’t shared any details or explained why this is happening. It’s likely a limited issue affecting only some users, but the company usually addresses such problems. We’ll keep an eye out for updates and share more information as soon as it’s available.
