The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition (SE) keeps gaining momentum. Over the past few weeks, Samsung has sold out four batches of this new foldable within minutes across China and South Korea. Each time a new stock is released, it quickly sells out, signaling high demand for the phone.
Galaxy Z Fold SE sold out for the fourth time
Samsung opened general sales of the Galaxy Z Fold SE in its home country, South Korea, in late October. The first batch sold out in around ten minutes. The company released a second batch a few days later, and it went out of stock in just five minutes. Samsung then rolled out the new foldable in China, and it saw similar demand there.
Recently, the third batch of the Galaxy Z Fold SE went on sale in Korea. According to the local media, it was sold out in just six minutes. Like before, Samsung didn’t disclose how many units were available to purchase. However, a quick sellout indicates the device is still in high demand in its homeland.
This foldable is an improved version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 launched a few months ago. It is slimmer, bigger, and has a less visible crease on the display. Samsung made it exclusively for China and South Korea to compete against the super-slim Chinese foldables. It is expected to offer these enhancements globally with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 next year.
There is a reason why this foldable is in high demand
We have imported the Galaxy Z Fold SE from South Korea. It recently arrived at our SammyGuru office in the US, and we can immediately see why it is in high demand. The form factor feels significantly improved compared to the Fold 6. The cover screen, with its wider aspect ratio, finally feels like a full-fledged smartphone display.
