Even though the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is still months away from its debut, early leaks have already started to surface. One such leak suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will feature an upgraded camera setup. It builds on what Samsung introduced with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which comes equipped with a 200MP rear sensor, mirroring the S25 Ultra and S25 Edge.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 key camera specs revealed early in new leak

First spotted by the folks over at GalaxyClub, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8, which is expected to go head to head with a rival foldable from Apple, could arrive with upgraded telephoto and ultrawide cameras. So what exactly might be in store for Samsung’s 2026 foldable? According to the outlet, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will retain the same 3x optical zoom telephoto lens. However, the resolution will see an increase from 10MP to 12MP. The Fold 8 may also receive a new 50MP ultrawide camera this year.

Of course, these details should still be taken with a pinch of salt, especially since we don’t yet know everything Samsung plans to reveal. A Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 are all but certain. But Samsung could also unveil a passport style Fold model, possibly branded as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 FE. This remains speculative for now, though an unexpected model number hints in that direction. Plus, we also exclusively revealed what could be an early look.

What I can say with confidence is that the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and any other foldables launching alongside them will run One UI 9. That’s considering Samsung’s confirmed that the Galaxy S26 series will debut with One UI 8.5. This sets the stage for foldables to ship with the newer version. Signs pointing to this have been circulating for quite some time.
