Samsung’s One UI 6.1.1 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 has landed in the US. It brings a host of new features and improvements. However, no new Galaxy AI tools made the cut, though we aren’t surprised. Pre-2022 Galaxy phones received only one AI feature with One UI 6.1.
Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 get One UI 6.1.1 in the US
Yesterday, Samsung released One UI 6.1.1 for its 2021 foldables. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 initially received the update in Europe, India, and a few other regions. They picked up the September security patch alongside several new features. The official changelog confirmed what we already expected: no AI features.
The same update is now rolling out in the US and the rest of the world. The Galaxy Z Fold 3’s One UI 6.1.1 update stateside bears the firmware build numbers F926USQU7JXH9 (carrier-locked) and F926U1UEU7JXHA (unlocked). Those for the Flip 3 are F711USQU8JXH9 and F711U1UEU8JXH9, respectively.
The changelog remains the same globally. Samsung isn’t pushing any new AI features to the devices. They only received Google’s Circle to Search with One UI 6.1, so it’s no surprise. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 probably aren’t powerful enough to run resource-hungry AI features without putting too much stress on their processor.
The One UI 6.1.1 update still has plenty on offer for the duo. Samsung pushes advanced health features, multitasking enhancements, security improvements, and several other new features. You can find the full changelog on the official Samsung website here. The update also brings the September security patch.
Launched with Android 11 and One UI 3, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 are eligible for Samsung’s Android 15 update, which brings One UI 7. The company may start beta programs this month, with a stable rollout expected in November. We will let you know when the update starts rolling out to your Galaxy phone or tablet.
