Samsung’s Galaxy Wearable app has received a new update with UI and functionality enhancements. The updated version is rolling out to Samsung wearable users globally via the Galaxy Store and Google Play Store. It may be followed by the One UI 6 Watch update for Galaxy smartwatches.
Galaxy Wearable update revamps UI ahead of the One UI 6 Watch rollout
Galaxy Wearable is Samsung’s smartphone companion app for all wearable Galaxy devices, including watches, earbuds, and rings. The app is available for Samsung and non-Samsung phones, as its wearables also work with devices from other brands. The company recently updated the app with substantial changes.
Upon installing the new version, we immediately noticed a UI refresh. For Galaxy Watch users, the watch icon at the top now looks more realistic, while the battery indicator below it also shows the estimated battery life remaining. The quick access grid for managing your watch faces, apps screen, tiles, and quick panel has been redesigned with more appealing colors and icons.
This grid now has a signed row instead of two. While the search button to its right remains intact, Samsung has removed the hamburger menu on the left. It’s now a floating button at the bottom of your screen. This change makes you tap more to find app settings, though you wouldn’t need to do that often. The rest of the menus also see a UI refresh with enhanced colors.
The Watch settings menu offers a preview of what you can manage through it — Notifications, Display, Health, and Pay. While the Settings app doesn’t see many changes, Samsung has restructured some of the options for a more streamlined presentation and seamless user experience. The changes are aimed at simplifying navigation and making it easier to find what you need.
This update also brings new One UI 6 Watch faces to older models, including the Galaxy Watch 6, Watch 5, and Watch 4. One UI 6 Watch is currently limited to the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra, though Samsung has been testing it for other Wear OS-powered Galaxy watches since June. It may roll out the update in October.
