Samsung has released a new One UI 6 Watch beta version for eligible Galaxy Watch models. It’s the eighth beta update for the Galaxy Watch 6 series and the seventh for the Watch 5 and Watch 4 lineups. Well, the update is currently only available for the Watch 6 models. We expect Samsung to expand it to older watches in the coming days.
Galaxy Watch 6 series gets another One UI 6 Watch beta update
Samsung has been beta testing the One UI 6 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 6, Watch 5, and Watch 4 series since June. Earlier this month, the company released the seventh beta build (the sixth for the latter two models). It has now followed up with the eighth beta update for the Watch 6 series. The new version is rolling out to beta participants widely.
The update comes with the firmware version ZXJ5 (last four digits). Samsung didn’t specify if the Watch 5 and Watch 4 models will also get this version. Its official announcement in the US community forum only mentioned the Watch 6. Previous releases mentioned all three lineups. We will let you know when the company shares more information.
As far as the changelog is concerned, it’s similar to the last release. Samsung says it has optimized the software to reduce unnatural battery drain and fix network interoperability issues. It also improved system stability and reliability and worked on other minor bugs. The previous One UI 6 Watch beta update carried an identical changelog for all three models.
This suggests Samsung is now focusing on functional and stability improvements before ta public release of One UI 6 Watch for the Galaxy Watch 6, Watch 5, Watch 4, and Watch FE — expected next month. Based on Wear OS 5, the new version arrived out of the box in the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra. It introduces several new features and enhancements to Samsung watches.
