Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S10 series of Android tablets earlier this year. Notably, the company also introduced a handful of accessories with the Galaxy Tab S10. Most of these are keyboard covers in different styles. The best thing about the new accessories is that they are also compatible with the older Galaxy Tab S9 series slates. The Cover keyboard accessories of the Galaxy Tab S10 also have a dedicated AI key to trigger the AI assistants. However, these AI keys don’t do anything on the Galaxy Tab S9 series.
But, Samsung is planning to make sure that the AI key of the Tab S10 series accessories also works on the Tab S9 range of slates as well.
Galaxy Tab S10 keyboard accessories promo video suggests AI key support for Tab S9 is coming
A promotional video for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 series Cover Keyboard accessories was rolled out recently. The video also highlights the dedicated button for the Galaxy AI assistant. When the part about the AI key is being played, a fine print at the bottom suggests support for the Galaxy Tab S9 series is coming.
“On Galaxy Tab S9 and Tab S9 FE series devices, One UI 7.0 or above is required to support the Galaxy AI Key function. It may require One UI update”, reads the fine print at the bottom of the video.
The AI key support isn’t coming anytime before next year
This promo video confirms that you will soon be able to use the AI key on older Galaxy Tabs. However, the support could take some time to arrive. We already know that the One UI 7 update isn’t rolling out any time before next year.
So, there are a few months before you will be able to use the AI key. We will update you more on the matter as soon as there’s any information, so stay tuned.
