Galaxy Tab S10 Will Get Seven Years of Security Updates, but Only Quarterly

by | Oct 9, 2024 | Galaxy Tab, News

Samsung’s new Galaxy Tab S10 series of flagship tablets went official last month. The company introduces two new devices in the series including the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. The latest Galaxy Tab S10 series devices offer several upgrades under the hood. One of the biggest highlights of the new series is that Samsung will offer seven years of Android and security updates for the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra.

However, the frequency of the security updates will not change on the new slates. They will continue to receive major Android security updates four times per year.

Samsung will deliver the Tab S10 series’ seven years of security upgrades quarterly

Samsung has updated its official support page regarding the software updates. The page shows information about all updates for its smartphones and tablets. Sadly, the webpage lists the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra under the “Current Models for Quarterly Security Updates” section. This means that the brand will offer the major Android security updates to these devices only once every three months a year.

Notably, Samsung has treated its previous Galaxy Tab S series tablets the same way when it comes to security updates. Most of us were hoping for the brand to deliver the security updates for the latest flagship tablets monthly. The company should treat its tablets the same way it treats its flagship smartphones when it comes to delivering security updates. We hope that Samsung makes some changes to its security update deliverance policy in the future.

If you are planning to buy Samsung’s latest flagship Android tablets then these are the details. The Galaxy Tab S10+ is available at the starting price tag of $999.99. As for the higher-end Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra model, it will set you back by $1,199.99 for the base configuration. It’s worth mentioning that Samsung is selling new slates like hotcakes as they keep disappearing from the online market shelves.
