Speculation around a price increase for the Galaxy S26 series is growing louder. Samsung’s smartphone chief, TM Roh, recently hinted that rising component costs could make higher prices unavoidable. That said, the increase may not be global or across the board. New reports suggest the company is considering holding prices steady in select markets to boost sales, and the USA is one of those regions.

Samsung may raise Galaxy S26 prices in its home market, but not in the USA

The Korean media recently reported that the Galaxy S26 series will debut with the same starting price as the Galaxy S25. The reports didn’t specify if the prices would remain flat globally and only mentioned figures for the USA. Fresh reports now suggest Samsung plans a hike for most other regions, including its home market of South Korea. The new flagships may cost $30-$60 more in the country.

If accurate, this would be the first local price increase for Samsung’s Galaxy S lineup since 2023. Market watchers also expect several other Samsung products to become more expensive this year. In fact, the company has already started increasing the prices of Galaxy phones and other devices in some regions like India. This suggests Galaxy S26 prices would also go up in these markets.

Of course, nothing is official yet. If we are to believe recent reports, the Galaxy S26 series may start at $799 in the USA (if the 128GB version exists, otherwise $899 for the 256GB model). However, buyers in some regions may have to shell out more. Samsung is expected to soon launch the Galaxy Book 6 series. If the new laptops see a price increase, it could serve as an early indicator of what to expect for the Galaxy S26 phones.
