A few hours ago, we got our first look at the Galaxy S25 Ultra design. It wasn’t an official render, but the leaked image comes from a reputable source and likely provides an accurate glimpse of the upcoming Samsung flagship. The tipster put it next to the Galaxy S24 Ultra to highlight the design changes. They have now compared the Galaxy S25 Ultra with the iPhone 16 Pro Max. You can see the two phones side-by-side below.
As expected, Apple’s next flagship retains the familiar design. The company isn’t known for changing its product design much. Samsung also has been employing an identical design philosophy to its phones lately. The past three generations of Ultra flagships have mostly looked the same, though this year’s Galaxy S24 Ultra has a flat display instead of a curved one. The S21 Ultra had a rounded finish and a different camera layout.
Samsung is returning to a curved design with the Galaxy S25 Ultra next year. However, the 2025 flagship’s curvature is minimal. It appears the company just wanted to get rid of the boxy finish with sharp corners. Ice Universe, who shared the first-look image, says Samsung has also redesigned the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s frame to reduce the overall bezel width. The leaked image shows slimmer bezels than the S24 Ultra.
Galaxy S25 Ultra’s redesign could be accompanied by hardware upgrades
Along with a design overhaul, Samsung plans to introduce major hardware upgrades to the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The phone should feature a beastly Snapdragon 8 Gen 4/Exynos 2500 chipset and 16GB RAM. We are also expecting improved camera, display, and other upgrades. The device will go official in early 2025.
