The Galaxy S25 series may not run One UI 7.1 out of the box after all. The latest rumor suggests Samsung will ship the new flagships with One UI 7.0, which is currently in beta. It will introduce One UI 7.1 a couple of months later, updating all supported models.
Samsung won’t introduce One UI 7.1 with the Galaxy S25 series
For several years, Samsung has shipped its new Galaxy S series flagships with One UI version x.1 based on the latest Android platform. However, that may not be the case this year. The company delayed the public release of Android 15-based One UI 7.0, pushing the One UI 7.1 update further back.
Expected to roll out in October or November last year, One UI 7.0 is now set to debut with the Galaxy S25 series later this month. Samsung will gradually expand it to other supported devices, including the Galaxy S24, S23, and all recent foldables. It could take a while for the company to update all eligible smartphones and tablets globally.
The Korean firm may then follow up with the One UI 7.1 update for the new flagships. According to X tipster @chunvn8888, Samsung will need at least 1-2 months to introduce the new version following the Galaxy S25 launch. Maybe we’ll see the update go live sometime in March or April. The company should also introduce One UI 7.1.1 with the new foldables in July or August.
