Samsung’s elusive One UI 7.0 update for the Galaxy S24 series may still be some time away, as rumors hint at a fourth beta release before the stable rollout. However, the company just pushed the February 2025 security patch to the devices. This update focuses on enhancing security and stability, addressing vulnerabilities in both Android and One UI software. More Galaxy devices will receive the new security patch in the coming days.
Galaxy S24 series picks up the February security update ahead of One UI 7.0
Samsung was expected to roll out the stable One UI 7.0 update to the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra in the first half of February. However, it now looks unlikely as the company appears to be readying one more beta build. The stable version may have been delayed for a few more weeks. Thankfully, Samsung hasn’t forgotten security patches. It continues to deliver those updates on time.
Galaxy S24 users who didn’t participate in the One UI 7.0 beta program — the beta program was launched in select markets — are now receiving the February security update. As of this writing, we can confirm the rollout in South Korea. The update comes with the firmware build number S92*NKSS4AYA1 in the region. The file size varies depending on the model, with it weighing 455MB for the Ultra and 296MB for the Plus.
This update brings no new features or functional enhancements to the Galaxy S24 trio. It is all about this month’s security fixes. Samsung has already revealed that the February security patch, aka SMR (Security Maintenance Release), addresses over 40 vulnerabilities across the Galaxy family. These security fixes will soon roll out to other models, including the Galaxy S25 series. Hopefully, the company will also speed up One UI 7.0 development and soon push the stable build to eligible models. We will keep you posted.
