The June 2026 Google Play System update is now arriving on Samsung Galaxy devices. Some users have reportedly received the latest release on their Galaxy phones, though it doesn’t seem to be available widely yet. The rollout should expand in the coming days.

June Google Play System update begins rolling out for Galaxy users

X user Tarun Vats recently reported that the June 2026 Google Play System update is rolling out for Galaxy devices. However, as of this writing, the update isn’t available on any of our Galaxy models running One UI 8.5 or One UI 9 Beta. This likely means a phased rollout began recently, with a wider release following soon.

Google Play System updates are often rolled out gradually and can take several days, or even weeks, to reach all eligible devices. It’s also not uncommon for Google to expand availability significantly toward the end of the month, with many Galaxy devices receiving the update in bulk after the initial rollout phase. You can manually check for the latest Google Play System update by following these steps:

  • Open Settings
  • Go to About phone
  • Tap Software information
  • Select Google Play System update

Your device will check for a newer version. If a new update is available, you’ll be prompted to download and install it. Once the installation is complete, restart the phone to finish the process.

The arrival of the June Google Play System update comes as Samsung continues rolling out the June 2026 security patch to eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets worldwide. To check for security updates, navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If the update isn’t showing up on your device yet, there’s no need to worry. Wait a few days and check again.
