Samsung’s debut tri-fold, or Galaxy G Fold, may be released alongside its Galaxy Z siblings, although two reliable sources suggest otherwise. The company has the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Z Flip FE lined up for launch at its second Galaxy Unpacked later this year. A report from the Korean outlet ETnews hints that the firm might release the Galaxy G Fold around the same time, but there’s a caveat.

Galaxy G Fold (tri-fold) could debut alongside the 2025 Galaxy Z line

While the publication suggests the Galaxy G Fold could go official during the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked in July, it may be a limited release initially. We’ve heard this before, just a few days ago. It also reiterates that Samsung plans to produce only 200,000 units initially, meaning it could launch first in South Korea and China, with a global release following, possibly in early 2026, according to yeux1111.

Samsung Tri Fold

This report backs previous rumors that the Galaxy G Fold’s main display could be 9.96 inches, with the cover display at 6.49 inches. It will fold inward from both sides, similar to Samsung’s existing Fold models. The only thing is it will fold twice. The device will reportedly lack S Pen support, though the company has been working on a digitizer-free S Pen. Samsung claims that less than 1% of users actually use the S Pen.

It’s still early to consider anything about the Galaxy G Fold as confirmed, but it wouldn’t be surprising if it initially launches in select markets. In fact, when PandaFlashPro hinted at an initial release in “select markets,” I speculated we could see a limited release in July, followed by a global launch in January 2026. While that’s an odd guess, it’s quite plausible. Whatever happens, we’re in for a ride. Right now, Samsung is also internally testing a 200MP primary camera for the Galaxy G Fold.
