Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro Battery Capacity Revealed, and It’s a Mixed Bag

The Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro may finally be due for a refresh, with Samsung likely to announce the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro alongside the Galaxy S26 series early next year. Over the past few days, we’ve gotten an early look at the design changes Samsung may have up its sleeve for the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro.

In latest, Android Authority has uncovered new clues in pre-release One UI 8.5 code pointing to the typical battery capacities for the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro. According to the report, the Galaxy Buds 4 will see a decrease, while the Buds 4 Pro will get an increase in battery capacity inside the earbuds. Below is a comparison of the current generation versus what the code suggests for the Galaxy Buds 4 lineup:

• Galaxy Buds 2: 61 mAh; Galaxy Buds 2 Pro: 61 mAh
• Galaxy Buds 3: 48 mAh; Galaxy Buds 3 Pro: 53 mAh
• Galaxy Buds 4: 42 mAh; Galaxy Buds 4 Pro: 57 mAh

As you can see, the shift from the Buds 2 series to the Buds 3 models already brought smaller batteries inside the earbuds themselves. Even with that reduction, real-world usage stayed largely the same for most users thanks to better power management. The upcoming Galaxy Buds 4 appear to continue that trend.

On paper, that may sound like bad news, but the drop isn’t as steep as last year’s change. If Samsung maintains similar efficiency gains, day-to-day battery life could end up feeling familiar rather than worse. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro could ship with a noticeably larger battery inside each earbud. And that opens the door to longer listening sessions, especially with ANC turned on.
