Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is receiving a new update, its first in almost a year. As usual, it’s a minor release focused on stability and reliability improvements. While small changes on paper, they can noticeably improve day-to-day use. The standard Buds 2 should also get this update soon.

New update arrives for Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 2 Pro

Wireless earbuds typically see far fewer software updates than smartphones or watches, and that’s largely because there’s less software under the hood to maintain. The Galaxy Buds 2 series last received an update back in July 2025, making this a relatively long gap. Now, Samsung is rolling out a fresh update, following similar releases for the newer Galaxy Buds 3 lineup, including the FE model.

As of this writing, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is picking up its latest software release in India. The update carries a build version ending in AZD1 and is relatively lightweight at 6.11MB, making it quick to download and install. There’s a good chance the standard Galaxy Buds 2 are also included in this rollout. If not, they should join the party soon, although availability may vary by region.

According to the official changelog, this release brings improved stability and reliability to the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. In practical terms, users can expect more consistent performance, including fewer connection drops. Audio performance may also feel slightly more refined. Do not expect any new features though. The Buds 2 lineup is unlikely to get fresh features at this point.

To update your Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, connect the buds to your Samsung Galaxy smartphone and open the Settings app (you no longer need the Galaxy Wearable app to manage buds). Your buds should show up at the top. Tap the menu, go to Earbuds software update, and tap Download and install. If an update is available, you’ll be prompted to download it. If not, wait a few days and check again.
