November security update reaches more Samsung Galaxy phones
This month’s security update, aka security maintenance release (SMR), for Samsung’s Android-powered smartphones and tablets addresses 52 vulnerabilities across various system apps, services, and components. These include Android OS components and Samsung ones, with most vulnerabilities rated as “high-severity” by Google and Samsung.
The Korean firm has already rolled out the latest security update to dozens of phones and tablets globally. However, it makes so many Android devices that the rollout never ends. The company will soon introduce the December SMR even as some eligible models with for the November release. The wait ends for a handful of models today.
We can confirm the availability of the November security patch for the Galaxy A72, Galaxy A15, Galaxy M52, and Galaxy M32. These devices weren’t sold globally, and Samsung is gradually rolling out the latest security fixes to them in supported markets. If you own one, watch out for a notification or go check for updates manually from the Settings app.
You can check for updates anytime by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install on your Galaxy phone or tablet. Since updates are released in batches, the latest build may not be available for everyone simultaneously. Check back again after a few days if you do not see any updates today.
Apart from the Galaxy A15, the other three models aren’t expected to receive Samsung’s Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update. The company may begin beta testing the new version in December. The stable build will arrive in early 2025, though Galaxy A15 users might have to wait a few months for it. We will keep you posted with the latest One UI 7.0 news.
