Samsung has started rolling out the October 2024 Android security update for the Galaxy A54 smartphone. The new update arrived soon after the company rolled it out for the Galaxy A55 a few days ago. The Android 15 update for the smartphone is also in the works.
Galaxy A54’s October 2024 security update fixes several issues
Samsung is currently rolling out the October 2024 security update for the Galaxy A54 in Europe. The new firmware build for the phone is “A546BXXSACXI3”. The company is expected to roll it out for the device units in other regions including the US in the coming days. The update is rolling out over the air in a phased manner, so not all the units of the phone will receive it right away.
The October 2024 security update for the Galaxy A54 brings fixes for a number of flaws. There are a total of 42 fixes for the security problems in the earlier version of the software. The update brings fixes for 30 issues affecting all Android devices. There are also 12 bug fixes for problems that are only specific to the Galaxy phones and tablets.
Galaxy A54 will also get the Android 15 update soon
It’s worth mentioning that the Samsung Galaxy A54 will be getting the Android 15 update as well. The smartphone was recently spotted in the database of the benchmarking app Geekbench running Android 15. This suggests that Samsung is currently preparing the Android 15 update for the mid-ranger as well.
Of course, the update will first arrive with the One UI 7 at some point in early 2025 with the upcoming Galaxy S25 series of flagships. However, you must be quite happy that Samsung is keen on delivering the latest Android update to its mid-range devices as well.
