Samsung has officially kicked off the Android 15-based One UI 7 update for its budget-friendly Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A16 smartphones. The initial rollout is underway in South Korea, with a broader global release, including the United States, expected in the coming weeks. The update brings Circle to Search to these devices.

Circle to Search arrives on more budget Galaxy phones with One UI 7

One of the standout surprises in this update is the addition of Circle to Search. This AI-powered tool allows users to draw a circle around anything on their screen to instantly run a Google search for it. While we only have confirmation of its availability on the Galaxy A16, there’s a high chance the Galaxy A15 may also receive the feature with the One UI 7 update.

Besides Circle to Search, One UI 7 for these budget phones contains a host of other upgrades. You get a redesigned quick settings and notification panel, revamped stock app icons, Now Bar, enhanced customization tools, smoother system animations, and improved security and privacy features.

Galaxy A16 users in Korea are receiving this update with the firmware build version BYE2. It’s BYD5 for the Galaxy A15. While the build numbers may vary in other markets, Circle to Search and other goodies will roll out globally. You can check for updates manually from Settings > Software update > Download and install. If the update is available for your device, you’ll be prompted to download it.

Samsung’s decision to bring premium features like Circle to Search to entry-level devices reflects its growing commitment to democratizing AI and delivering meaningful updates across its smartphone lineup. With One UI 7, the Galaxy A15 and A16 are getting not just a new version of Android but a significantly richer user experience. Expect more upgrades with One UI 8 later this year.
