Don’t Pick the Wrong Finger for the Galaxy Ring!

by | Aug 1, 2024 | Galaxy Ring, News

If your Galaxy Ring isn’t living up to your expectations, maybe you’re wearing it on the wrong finger. While Samsung’s marketing materials, including the sizing kit guide, say you can wear the ring on any finger, it delivers the best results on the index finger. Yes, not the ring finger but the index finger. Samsung itself subtly recommends that on the in-box documentation, though it ideally wants to tell people that the Galaxy Ring is designed to fit every finger.

You could be wearing the Galaxy Ring on the wrong finger

The Galaxy Ring is an impressive piece of wearable tech. It isn’t perfect, but admirable for a first-gen product. The Samsung smart ring excels in sleep tracking and offers a reliable overall health monitoring experience. Its lightweight, non-intrusive design with water resistance makes it an ideal solution for daily fitness tracking. There is room for improvement in some areas, like gestures, but the wearable should improve with time. NFC support would have added to its functionality.

Nonetheless, it’s a great start from Samsung. Trying to make it look cooler, the company proudly claims that the Galaxy Ring can be worn on any finger. It is technically correct too. However, we have noticed that the ring works best on the index finger. Gestures work much better on the index finger than the ring finger, or any other finger. Since the Galaxy Ring is thicker than a traditional one, it rubs quite a bit against your pinky finger and middle finger when put on the ring finger.

We also noticed that the ring measures heart rate more accurately when on the index finger. So, it isn’t just about comfort. The right placement of your Galaxy Ring can make all the difference in the world. If you plan to buy it, test the sizing kit on your index finger. Wear the dummy ring for at least 24 hours with the sensors on the underside of your finger. Try different sizes and order the size that is most comfortable to wear. Priced at $399.99, the Galaxy Ring is available in Titanium Gold, Titanium Black, and Titanium Silver colors.
