You may have recently come across an alleged Galaxy S25 Ultra photo on social media. Originally posted on Facebook, the photo is going viral on X and other platforms too. However, anyone with little knowledge about Samsung’s Ultra flagships can tell it’s fake. The device shown in the photo is definitely not the upcoming Ultra.
The viral Galaxy S25 Ultra photo is fake
The photo in question was first posted in a public Facebook group named “Galaxy Fans Vietnam” with over 132,000 members. It has since been shared on other platforms as well. The photo shows a device on the table with its screen facing down. We can see a triple camera setup on the back, housed in an elevated vertical bump. The power and volume buttons are on the right side (when the screen faces up).
It’s immediately clear that this isn’t the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The upcoming Samsung flagship will feature four cameras on the back, as well as a laser autofocus sensor. Its camera setup looks different with no camera bump. Even the physical buttons should sit slightly higher than shown in this fake photo. If you look closely, the power button is recessed, hinting at a side-mounted capacitive fingerprint scanner.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature an under-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. This photo seemingly shows the right half of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, with all the design cues matching the new foldable. Someone may have detached the other half and posted a photo. Rumors have previously hinted at Samsung offering a similar corner curvature on the new Ultra. The Galaxy S24 Ultra has a boxy design with sharp corners.
Samsung will launch the Galaxy S25 Ultra alongside the S25 and S25+ in early 2025. Leaks have already revealed plenty about the upcoming flagship trio.
