Samsung has begun the One UI 6.1.1 rollout for the Galaxy S23 series, including the S23 FE, and Galaxy Tab S9 series. The big feature update is currently available in the company’s homeland, South Korea. It should soon expand to other regions. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 should be the next in the pipeline, followed by other eligible models.

Samsung rolls out One UI 6.1.1 to the Galaxy S23 and Tab S9 series

Introduced on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, One UI 6.1.1 is the latest version of Samsung’s Android-based custom software. Last week, the company rolled it out to the Galaxy S24 series, though a global release began earlier this week. As expected, the software version remained on One UI 6.1 (only tablets and foldables get the new version number). The update still brought all the compatible new features and enhancements.

Samsung said the One UI 6.1.1-based update will roll out to other eligible devices starting September 12. As promised, it has started pushing the update to the Galaxy S23 and Tab S9 series. Korean users are usually the first to receive these updates and it’s no different this time. The flagship S23 models are picking up the firmware build number CXH7 (last four digits), while it is BXH7 for the S23 FE. For the Tab S9, it’s BXHB.

Update sizes vary depending on the model, weighing well over 2GB. Like the Galaxy S24 series, Korean Galaxy S23 users (including the FE model) are receiving the September security patch alongside the One UI 6.1.1 goodies. However, the Galaxy Tab S9 series remains on the August patch. Samsung didn’t push the latest security patch to the global Galaxy S24 units either. It should arrive with a separate update later.

One UI 6.1.1 should soon be available for more Galaxy devices. As said earlier, we expect Samsung to update the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 next. The Galaxy S22, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Flip 4 should also receive it soon. A few mid-range devices may get the update too, though chances of new AI features making it to those devices are slim. We will keep you posted as Samsung rolls out One UI 6.1.1 widely.
