Beware: Phishing Scam Spreading in the Samsung Members App

If you have the Samsung Members app installed on your Galaxy, beware of this new scam. You may receive a message claiming that your account requires urgent verification. While the message looks serious, it’s actually part of a typical phishing scam. Several community members have recently reported the scam, so we’re bringing attention to it now to warn our readers.

Scammers target Samsung Members app users with fake messages

Samsung Members app is an official platform that lets you access news, updates, and announcements directly from Samsung. It also offers diagnostics (for example, battery status) and useful tips to unlock the device’s full potential. The community section allows users to connect with others and get support from experts. Furthermore, the app provides access to exclusive events and benefits. While the platform is safe, the recent scam messages show that users still need to remain careful.

In the US Samsung Community forum, a user recently reported (via Android Authority) a suspicious message that came from an unofficial account pretending to be the Samsung Security Team. The first paragraph of the message reads, “Due to changes in international legislation regarding personal identification of internet platform users (International Act No. 567 EU-DIG-ID-2025), we are required to perform an unscheduled verification of your account following a complaint received about your profile.”

The message then warns the user that this verification is mandatory. It claims that new rules are for improving safety and preventing issues like account loss, anonymous threats, and illicit activities. However, these are completely false, meaning you can ignore the message without any doubt. Furthermore, the message says that if the user doesn’t complete the verification within 24 hours, their Samsung account will be suspended. It also mentions a possible fine of up to $500.

This might scare some users into clicking the link in the message and providing personal details. So, stay calm and double-check any message that sounds threatening. Meanwhile, users in the European Samsung Community forum have also reported a similar phishing message, suggesting the scam is making its way to multiple regions.
