The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are eligible for seven years of updates. During this time, Samsung will roll out dozens of security patches and One UI features updates to the duo. The first of those updates is now available for the US versions of the two new foldables. The August security patch is also rolling out to the devices in Canada.
August update rolling out to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Glip 6 in the US
Last week, Samsung released the August update for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 in its homeland, South Korea. It has since expanded the update to several other markets. The new SMR (Security Maintenance Release) recently crossed borders to North America. The latest security patch is rolling out to the foldable duo in the US and Canada.
The August update for the devices bears the firmware build number AXH7 (last four digits) in both markets. The official changelog mentions stability improvements and security fixes. The Korean versions of the phones picked up camera, call, and audio-related functional enhancements. Hopefully, Samsung is pushing the same changes here.
This update should soon be available for both carrier-locked and unlocked variants of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 across the US. You should get a notification once the OTA (over the air) rollout hits your new Samsung foldable. If you wish to check for updates manually on your phone, navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
