While Samsung may not release One UI 7.0 beta anytime soon, the excitement surrounding it continues to grow. So far, all reports about the new version have been positive, and a fresh leak brings even more good news. A trusted tipster says the update will bring AI-powered search and other enhancements to the Gallery app.
Samsung Gallery could get AI search and more updates with One UI 7.0
Noted Samsung leaker Ice Universe recently took to X to report exciting information about the company’s Gallery app. According to them, the One UI 7.0 update “will make some optimizations” to the app and “add convenient features related to AI search”. They didn’t specify what kind of optimizations are in the pipeline, nor describe the AI search feature.
Samsung Gallery already boasts advanced search capabilities. It can identify objects in photos and let you search for those using short keywords. The company might be working on improving this function with One UI 7.0. Perhaps it’ll add an AI-powered search tool similar to Google Photos. The latter lets you describe photos and videos to find them, not just short keywords.
One UI 7.0 will also introduce a new icon for Gallery and several other first-party Samsung apps. Leaks have already revealed some of the updated icons, including Galaxy Store, Phone, Contacts, Samsung Internet, and more. Additionally, we are expecting a massive UI overhaul, smoother animations and transitions, improved apps, and tons of new features.
Samsung might start One UI 7.0 beta later this month, with a stable release following in November or December. The company delayed the update to ensure a smooth user experience. It aims to fix the most obvious bugs internally before launching public beta programs. The Galaxy S24 series should be the first to get both updates. We will let you know when the rollout begins.
