Samsung’s November update is widely available for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, including in the US and Europe. The rollout began last week with the company initially covering its home market, South Korea. Over the past couple of days, the new security patch reached the foldable duo in more regions.
November update reaches the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 in the US and Europe
Both the carrier-locked and unlocked variants of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 are receiving the November security update in the US. The new firmware build numbers for the Fold model are F956USQU2AXK8 (carrier-locked) and F956U1UEU2AXKB (unlocked). Those for the Flip are F741USQU2AXK8 and F741U1UEU2AXKB, respectively.
For users in Europe, the updates come with the build numbers F956BXXU2AXK8 (Fold) and F741BXXU2AXK8 (Flip). Regardless of the firmware version, the changelogs remain the same across the lineup. Samsung says it has improved system stability and reliability, while simultaneously addressing security vulnerabilities. The November SMR (Security Maintenance Release) patches over 50 issues.
While the changelog doesn’t reveal anything more, we can confirm bootloader updates for both. This means a change in security policies or security systems that block you from rolling back to the previous firmware build. This is likely because of the Auto Blocker update. Samsung has been rolling out USB restrictions to Galaxy devices this month.
On supported devices, the November update introduces a new feature that automatically blocks USB connections when Auto Blocker is set to Maximum restrictions. Your phone’s USB port can be used only for charging. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 are likely picking up this security enhancement with the November update.
If you use either of these Samsung foldables, watch out for this update in the coming days. The Korean firm is expected to soon release One UI 7.0 beta, introducing more security tools and feature upgrades. The stable version will arrive in early 2025.
