UPDATE: A few hours after we published this article, Android Headlines shared the full set of Galaxy A56 renders they created in collaboration with Onleaks. The images show the upcoming Samsung mid-ranger from various angles, revealing its front and back design, as well as the Key Island frame design. We have included all images below, and a 360-degree video at the end of this article.
ORIGINAL ARTICLE: Samsung’s 2025 mid-range smartphones are taking a new design approach. Leaked renders of the Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A26 have already confirmed the return of a prominent camera bump. Now, a fresh leak reveals that the Galaxy A56 will feature the same design.
Fresh Galaxy A56 leak confirms a design change
We recently spotted a Galaxy A56 render on Bing. It appears to have been designed by renowned leaker Steve H. McFly, aka Onleaks, a reliable source with an excellent track record of providing accurate first looks at various Galaxy devices. The leaker seemingly teamed up with Android Headlines on this render.
As you can see in the image above, the Galaxy A56 will feature a camera bump on the back, marking a shift in Samsung’s design approach for its 2025 mid-range lineup. Most Galaxy phones released in 2023 and 2024 did not include camera bumps. The company is sticking to its minimalist design for Galaxy S25 flagships, though, with individual rear cameras protruding directly from the back panel instead of being housed in a bump.
The upcoming premium mid-range phone has three cameras on the back. These are likely to remain unchanged from the Galaxy A55’s 50MP+12MP+5MP setup. Fans have been calling out Samsung to replace the 5MP macro shooter with a telephoto lens but that doesn’t seem to be happening.
However, the Galaxy A56 may get a new selfie camera. We are expecting an improved 12MP sensor to replace the aging 32MP camera. The Galaxy A36 is likely to feature the same selfie camera as its pricier sibling. Both devices should go official something in the first quarter of 2025 if not earlier.
While the Galaxy A56 is expected to run Samsung’s Exynos 1580 processor, the A36 might be powered by a Snapdragon chipset. It could be either the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 or the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. Leaks and rumors about these two Samsung mid-rangers should pick up the pack in the coming weeks. We will keep you posted.
