Samsung Smart TV users will soon be able to enjoy Generative AI Wallpapers. After announcing the feature at SDC 2024 in early October, the company has now confirmed its rollout. High-end Samsung TVs will receive AI-powered wallpapers starting this month. It will be a limited initial rollout, with a global expansion planned for 2024.
Generative AI Wallpapers are coming to Samsung TVs
Introduced with the Galaxy S24 series, Generative AI Wallpaper is an AI-powered feature to create custom wallpapers. Users can design their own wallpapers based on text prompts and other inputs. Samsung has expanded the feature to several other flagship smartphones and tablets in recent months. It is now bringing AI wallpapers to TVs.
Samsung’s QLED and Neo QLED TVs launched in 2024 will receive Generative AI Wallpapers with a new update starting this month. Users can create 4K images to personalize their TVs for a unique visual experience that matches their home decor and personal style. The new feature can be accessed through the Ambient Mode section.
After navigating to Ambient Mode, users can select a theme to create custom wallpapers. Samsung offers various presets to quickly get desired images. The feature will be initially available in South Korea, North America, and Europe. The company plans to roll out the new feature globally next year. Other TV models may also receive this update later.
Generative AI Wallpapers follow the recent rollout one One UI for Samsung TVs. Its Tizen OS-powered TVs received a UI overhaul and several new features, ensuring smooth integration of Android OS features. The firm is now expanding AI capabilities to its smart TVs, creating a more cohesive user experience across its ecosystem.
“Generative Wallpaper brings a new dimension of personalization to our customers’ screens, allowing them to customize their TVs in a way that truly reflects their style,” said Cheolgi Kim, a Vice President at Samsung. “As we continue to push the boundaries of AI technology, we look forward to transforming the home entertainment experience and evolving how users interact with their screens.”
