Samsung removed the Sound Assistant’s multi-sound feature for Android Auto with the One UI 6.1.1 update. However, the South Korean tech giant is planning to bring back this functionality with the One UI 7.0 update. Previous reports have suggested that Samsung is re-evaluating its decision to remove this feature from Android Auto. Now, a moderator on Samsung’s official forums has officially confirmed that the multi-sound feature is coming back to Android Auto.
Samsung is improving Sound Assistant’s multi-sound feature to work better with Android Auto
A Samsung moderator from the Good Lock support team has announced that the brand is currently improving Sound Assistant’s multi-sound feature. The moderator noted that in One UI 6.1.1 and later software binaries, the functionality was changed to not work when Android Auto is running. The feature worked differently depending on the Android Auto devices, which caused many issues.
The Samsung Sound Assistant’s multi-sound feature currently requires terminal software improvements. The brand has planned to stabilize problematic elements in the next OS update (possibly One UI 7.0 or 7.1) for this feature. Once all the issues are fixed, Samsung will bring back the feature. The functionality currently requires a complete overhaul, so we can expect revamped multi-sound support in the One UI 7.0 update.
