Samsung has achieved a new milestone with its latest flagship smartphones. The Galaxy S26 series has crossed 3 million units in sales (based on shipment volume) in South Korea. The company reached this milestone faster than last year’s Galaxy S25 series.

Galaxy S26 sets a new record with faster 3 million sales

Samsung released its Galaxy S26 series on March 11 after opening pre-orders from February 27 to March 5. The company received 1.35 million pre-orders in South Korea, setting a new record for the Galaxy S series. The previous record was 1.3 million pre-orders for the Galaxy S25 series.

However, the Galaxy S26 series continued to attract more customers and has now set another new record. Korean media reports that the flagship lineup has recently surpassed 3 million units in cumulative domestic sales. Note that the figure is based on shipment volume rather than actual phone activations. This came on the 118th day after the official launch (launch day counted as day 1).

In comparison with last year’s Galaxy S25 series, the Galaxy S26 lineup reached the 3 million-unit mark much faster. The 2025 flagship Galaxy S series saw the same level of domestic sales in early August after its launch in February. This shows solid demand for Samsung’s latest flagship smartphones.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra appears to have played a key role in pushing sales of the new lineup. The phone accounted for around 70% of total pre-orders. Thanks to its next-level AI experience and Privacy Display feature, which limits screen visibility from side angles, the device is gaining solid attention in the premium smartphone segment.

Last month, Samsung kicked off a large-scale promotion for the Galaxy S26 series, offering various purchase benefits to customers. This likely supported sales momentum during the later stages of the launch.

The strong demand has also been confirmed through South Korea’s export data. According to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, sales of the Galaxy S26 series showed a double-digit increase compared to the previous year.
