Samsung Rolls Out New Update for Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch 8 Models

Samsung is moving quickly to complete its One UI 8.5 rollout across Galaxy smartphones and tablets. At the same time, the company is also keeping its wearable devices up to date with the latest security and stability improvements. The Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch 8 series are now picking up fresh updates in some regions, with a wider release expected soon.
Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 7 get new updates from Samsung
As reported by users on Samsung’s official community forums, the company recently released new updates for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch 8 models in South Korea. The Watch 7 lineup is getting a firmware build ending in BZE1, while its AZE1 for the Watch 8 lineup. The file size varies depending on the model, but it mostly weighs between 150MB and 200MB.
As for the changelog, Samsung is pushing the May 2026 security fixes to these watches. There may be some additional software optimizations for a smoother everyday performance, but do not expect any new features or major UI changes here.
These updates are currently only available in South Korea. We checked multiple Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch 8 models across several other regions, and none have received a new update. That said, Samsung will gradually expand the rollout to additional regions over the coming days and weeks. The company should also soon release new updates for the Galaxy Watch Ultra, Watch 6, and other models.
Galaxy Watch owners can install the latest firmware using either the smartwatch itself or the Galaxy Wearable app on a connected smartphone. Open the app, tap Watch settings, and go to Watch software update > Download and install. If no update is available today, wait a few days and check again. We will let you know when Samsung rolls out new updates for other Galaxy Watch models.
