Breaking! Samsung’s One UI 8.5 Update Also Live for Galaxy A55

Samsung has officially started rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy A55. The update is now live in South Korea, where the device is known as Galaxy Quantum 5. It joins the Galaxy A35 and a few other mid-range Galaxy phones in Samsung’s newest Android 16-based software experience.

The new firmware arrives with build version A556SKSU7DZE5. Samsung will gradually roll out One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy A55 across South Korea and then expand the release to other regions. A global rollout may begin later this week, though it could take a while for the update to reach everyone.

One UI 8.5 focuses heavily on refinement and usability improvements rather than dramatic design changes. Samsung has polished animations throughout the interface, improved app responsiveness, enhanced multitasking performance, and optimized battery efficiency.

The update also introduces refreshed UI elements with cleaner visuals and better readability across the system. Privacy and security features have also been strengthened, helping improve device protection and data management. Some advanced AI tools and camera features aren’t coming to the Galaxy A55, though. They remain exclusive to recent flagship models.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A55 in early 2024, running Android 14 out of the box. Since then, the device has already received multiple major platform and One UI upgrades as part of Samsung’s extended software support policy. With One UI 8.5 now arriving, the Galaxy A55 continues to remain one of Samsung’s best-supported mid-range smartphones.

If you are using this phone, you can manually check for new updates by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the download completes, tapping Install now will begin the installation process. The phone will automatically restart after the update is applied.
