One UI 7’s Simple, Impactful and Emotive UI Changes Explored

by | Oct 4, 2024 | News, One UI

One UI 7 is shaping up to be a massive update for Galaxy phones. In the past few hours, we’ve uncovered a host of exciting changes coming to the next iteration of Samsung’s custom Android skin. From a redesigned Galaxy AI menu and a revamped Quick Panel to updates in the dialer and camera app, there’s plenty to look forward to. Let’s take a deeper dive into what else is changing in One UI 7.

Here’s a sneak peek at One UI 7’s simple, impactful, and emotive UI

Samsung says it redesigned One UI 7 to create a simple, impactful, and emotive Galaxy experience. The company has tweaked almost every UI element. The Quick Panel has been separated from the notification shade and offers more customization. You can move the blocks to personalize the panel. One UI 6.1.1 doesn’t offer this flexibility. You can only customize the main block with quick toggles.

One UI 7 offers a highly customizable homescreen too. There’s a new option to customize icons and widget styles. Samsung has revamped widgets for a more stylish and modern look that goes hand-in-hand with the overall UI redesign. It has also redesigned app icons and moved the search bar to the bottom of the app drawer, making it easily reachable with one hand. It’s a challenge on bigger phones currently.

Elsewhere, the Side button settings have been revamped, though we like the current layout. The redesign makes you tap more to configure what a double-press and “press and hold” of the power button does. The homepage of the Settings app doesn’t see any notable changes, though. Samsung has focused on simplicity more than anything. The goal is a purposeful simplicity across with a signature impression.

Samsung will release One UI 7 beta sometime in December, if not earlier. As trusted leaker Ice Universe notes, that’s plenty of time for the company to further tweak the UI design. We might see more leaks in the build-up to the beta rollout. The stable One UI 7 update isn’t expected until 2025. It’ll arrive with the Galaxy S25 series before expanding to other models. A long wait, but it might be worth it.
