Samsung May Once Again Restrict One UI 9 Beta to Select Markets

Samsung’s One UI 9 Beta Program is slowly taking shape, but early signs suggest the company may once again keep testing limited to a small group of countries. As of now, beta forum pages for the Galaxy S26 series have appeared in just six markets: Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, the UK, and the US. These are the same regions where Samsung has traditionally conducted One UI beta programs over the past several years.
One UI 9 Beta may remain limited to familiar markets
The newly created One UI 9 Beta forums strongly hint that Samsung is sticking to its long-standing rollout strategy for beta testing. While fans in many other countries continue asking for wider access every year, the company appears to be preparing another restricted release for Android 17-based One UI 9.
Samsung has never officially explained why it limits beta access to a handful of regions, but there are a few likely reasons behind the decision. These countries represent some of Samsung’s biggest smartphone markets and also tend to have highly active Samsung Members communities. A large and engaged beta user base helps the company collect bug reports, usage feedback, and forum discussions more efficiently during testing.
The dedicated beta forums also play a major role in Samsung’s development process. Users frequently report bugs, request features, share screenshots, and interact directly with moderators. Restricting beta access to regions with strong community participation may simply make the program easier to manage.
Even among these six countries, Samsung does not always release beta updates equally for every device. Availability often depends on the popularity of a particular model in a region. Some Galaxy devices receive beta access in all supported markets, while others are limited to only two or three countries.
The appearance of the new beta forums suggests Samsung is getting close to launching the first One UI 9 beta build for the Galaxy S26 series. If the company follows its usual schedule, the initial beta could arrive before the end of this month. Other models may join a few months later. The stable version could debut with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 in late July, though a wider rollout is unlikely until September or October. We will keep you posted.
