Galaxy Ring 2 Launch Timeline Tipped With Major Upgrades

Samsung first debuted the Galaxy Ring in July Unpacked of 2024, and since then, there has been multiple speculations as to when the successor will finally break cover. Turns out, the Galaxy Ring 2 isn’t coming any time sooner. But whenever it does, it will come with a bunch of upgrades, which may make the wait worth it.

Supply chain sources, according to ETNews, confirm that the Galaxy Ring 2 won’t launch until early 2027. That timeline somewhat gives hope that Samsung may take the wraps off the Galaxy Ring successor alongside the Galaxy S27 series. More importantly, it will come with improvements in three key areas.

Samsung is said to be working on some key upgrades for the Galaxy Ring 2, with battery life leading the list. While the current model is rated for up to seven days, the new version could last between nine and ten days. That should help it comfortably deliver a full week of use even with heavier usage over time.

The company is also expected to refine the internal design for a thinner and lighter build, improving comfort. Sensor performance may see upgrades too, with better skin temperature accuracy, improved sleep tracking, and enhanced cardiovascular insights. No new sensors have been detailed yet, however.

The report also mentions that Samsung is developing a non invasive blood glucose sensor. However, the expected launch window for the Galaxy Ring 2 makes its inclusion unlikely. As a result, the upcoming model will probably miss out on that feature despite ongoing development behind the scenes.

Earlier rumors suggested the device could arrive with the Galaxy S26 lineup, which did not happen. Expectations then shifted to a summer Unpacked event, but that now seems unlikely.
