YouTube TV Rolls Out Customizable Multiview for All Users

It’s official. YouTube TV has now officially confirmed that it’s rolling out fully customizable multiview feature. It started appearing for some users last week, and now the official word has come from YouTube CEO Neal Mohan. It expands a tool that has long been popular among sports fans, letting viewers watch multiple streams at once.
YouTube TV’s biggest multiview upgrade yet is now rolling out
In addition to announcing the update, YouTube also clarified where the feature won’t work, including certain types and a small portion of older devices. Users now have full control over multiview, meaning they can select nearly any live channel and combine streams freely. This includes mixing content across packages like NFL Sunday Ticket. On that note, YouTube is offering discounted NFL Sunday Ticket.
A new multiview builder supports categories such as sports, news, shows, movies, and other live content. There are still recommended options based on viewing habits, but users aren’t limited to them anymore. Instead, they can pick exactly what they want to watch, creating a more flexible and personalized streaming setup across different genres and subscriptions.
As for limitations, Multiview only works with live programming. Recorded content and video on demand titles can’t be added. Some family friendly content is also excluded from customization. These restrictions mean the feature is still focused mainly on real time viewing, especially for live events and broadcasts.
Device compatibility is another constraint. While the rollout covers most living room and mobile devices, a small group, estimated at less than 5 percent, won’t support full customization. Those users will still see a limited version centered on major events. Despite that, YouTube TV’s multiview expansion marks a major step forward in streaming flexibility.
