Galaxy S26’s Exynos 2600 Uses AI to Boost Graphics and Efficiency

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 and S26+ are powered by the company’s in-house 2nm Exynos 2600 chip in most markets. The new chip has proven to be a strong performer, particularly on the graphics front. Much of that progress comes from Samsung’s AI-driven graphics optimization technology called ENSS (Exynos Neural Super Sampling), which is integrated directly into the processor.

With the Exynos 2600, Samsung is pushing beyond raw horsepower and focusing on smarter performance. ENSS is its first AI-based graphics optimization system built into a mobile application processor, aiming to deliver better visuals while keeping power consumption in check. At its core, ENSS combines two key technologies:

  • Neural Super Sampling (NSS): Uses AI to upscale lower-resolution images into sharper, high-definition visuals
  • Neural Frame Generation (NFG): Predictively generates intermediate frames to create smoother motion

Together, these techniques allow the system to reduce the load on the GPU while still delivering high-quality graphics. Instead of brute-forcing performance, the chip uses intelligence to fill in gaps efficiently.

One of the biggest advantages of ENSS is how it balances performance and efficiency. By reconstructing visuals and generating frames through AI, the GPU doesn’t have to work as hard. That translates to lower power consumption, an important factor for gaming and intensive tasks on smartphones. Samsung claims this approach results in clearer visuals, more stable frame rates, and reduced stutter.

In practical terms, this could mean smoother gameplay, better video rendering, and more consistent performance across apps that rely heavily on graphics processing. Benchmark results show the Exynos 2600 outperforms competing chips by around 15% in the Steel Nomad Lite graphics test. The chip also takes the lead in ray tracing, which is one of the most demanding workloads for a GPU.

Samsung plans to expand support for ENSS across future products, depending on hardware capabilities and software optimization. The Exynos 2700, which should power the Galaxy S27 lineup early next year, is likely to come with this technology.
