Samsung is steadily expanding its footprint in Texas as its highly anticipated Taylor semiconductor facility nears completion. The company has already secured a massive site for chip products, but new reports suggest it isn’t stopping there. Instead, Samsung appears to be quietly locking in additional nearby space to support operations before the plant even becomes fully functional.

Samsung reportedly locks in 140,000 sq ft warehouse near Taylor fab

According to local reports, Samsung has leased around 140,000 square feet at the Park79 Commerce Center near its Taylor fab. That accounts for roughly 40% of the entire industrial development. While the company hasn’t confirmed the deal publicly, sources claim the space will function as a warehouse, signaling early logistical scaling ahead of full production ramp-up later this year.

The Taylor semiconductor facility is a cornerstone of Samsung’s US expansion strategy. Backed by a $17 billion initial investment announced alongside Greg Abbott in 2021, the plant is expected to employ about 1,500 workers by 2026. It also supports a major chip supply agreement with Tesla, reportedly worth $16 billion through 2033 and linked to CEO Elon Musk.

So, better put, the fab isn’t fully operational yet, but Samsung is already lining up the space it will need to keep things moving once production begins. Suppliers are moving in, nearby facilities are filling up, and the company is making sure it won’t run into bottlenecks later. Seemingly, there’s a ceremony scheduled this week as well.
