Samsung Clears Up Concerns Over Galaxy AI in Reddit AMA

Samsung has taken the AI experience in its latest Galaxy S26 series to the next level. However, some people still have concerns about the Galaxy AI suite, such as how the features help, how much control they have, and what happens to their data. The company recently hosted a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything), during which it cleared most of the doubts about Galaxy AI.

Here’s what Samsung said about Galaxy AI

Annika Bizon, Vice President of Product and Marketing for Mobile Experiences at Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland, has led the discussion in the latest Reddit AMA. The questions were centered around Galaxy AI, a suite of intelligent features that aims to make daily life easier.

One Reddit user asked, “How are you supporting customers that don’t want AI on their devices?” Samsung explained that it aims to make AI as easy and effortless as possible, but they are not forced on users. You will need a Samsung or Google account to activate Galaxy AI features. On top of that, they have to be turned on during the device setup. You can also decide which AI features you want to keep on or turn off from the settings page.

What about user privacy?

A Reddit user also raised concerns about data privacy. They asked whether using Galaxy AI means that personal information, such as photos, messages, and notes, is sent to Samsung’s servers for analysis. Samsung said that Galaxy AI is built with protection at its core.

The company highlighted its Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), which provides a safeguard for AI-powered features. Simply put, this security system maintains digital walls between your apps and protects your data. Speaking of AI features that depend on cloud processing, the executive said: “Your data is processed to deliver the answer you asked for, and then it’s deleted.”

A user calls AI a burden

Regarding usefulness, a Galaxy S26 Ultra user feels AI features are more of a burden than a benefit. In response, Samsung advised the user to start with one feature and let it do the work. The executive also pointed out “Now Nudge” as a time-saving tool. For example, the tool can check your calendar for clashes and suggest free time slots. It also offers to add it to your schedule automatically.
