One UI 8.5 Beta Now Available for Galaxy A55 in More Markets

Samsung is continuing to rapidly expand its One UI 8.5 testing program, and mid-range users are now getting a bigger share of the action. The Galaxy A55 has started receiving the beta update in India, following its earlier debut in Korea. The Galaxy A54, A35, and A36 are the other two mid-range models with beta access.

Galaxy A55’s One UI 8.5 Beta update is now live in India

Samsung has been beta testing One UI 8.5 since December last year, with the Galaxy S25 series recently picking up the ninth beta build. Over the past four months, the company has released beta updates for a bunch of other flagship devices, including foldables and tablets. It is now bringing One UI 8.5, which debuted with the Galaxy S26 series, to more mid-range models.

Shortly after kicking off the beta program for the Galaxy A54, Samsung has expanded beta access for the A55 — A54 is getting its first beta update in India. Unfortunately, the Galaxy A34 might miss out, and so does the Galaxy A56. These devices should directly jump to the stable version in May or June.

The stable rollout may begin at the end of this month, but only for the Galaxy S25 series in Korea. A wider rollout is expected to kick off in early May and gradually expand to more devices in the latter half of the month. Meanwhile, if you are using a Galaxy A55 or even an A54 in India, watch out for the beta banner on the Samsung Members app. Tap the banner and follow the instructions to register your device in the beta program. After that, the update should arrive over the air (you can check from Settings > Software update > Download and install).
