Galaxy Tab S10+ and S10 Ultra Receive Updates for Seven Years

by | Sep 27, 2024 | Galaxy Tab, News

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S10 series flagship Android tablets are now official. The company launched the Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra with minimal upgrades. While its official press release didn’t mention how many major Android OS updates the devices will get, we can confirm they enjoy the same update support as other 2024 flagships.

The Galaxy Tab S10+ and S10 Ultra are eligible for seven years of updates

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S0 Ultra will receive seven years of updates. The new tablets run Android 14 out of the box and will pick up updates all the way up to Android 21 sometime in late 2030 or early 2031. In between, the company will push numerous One UI updates and security patches. Samsung says the devices are guaranteed security updates until the end of October 2031.

In other words, the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S0 Ultra enjoy the same update support as the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Older flagships and mid-range devices get four major Android OS updates and five years of security patches, including the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy Tab S9. The new policy puts Samsung miles ahead of most other Android manufacturers.

To sweeten the deal, the Korean conglomerate may offer six years of OS and security updates to mid-range devices starting later this year. The Galaxy A16, which should be fairly affordable, is rumored to debut the new policy. Samsung also promised seven years of features and security updates for its high-end TVs. It certainly leads the way when it comes to prolonged user security and feature enhancements.

Apart from longer software support, the Galaxy Tab S10 series offers anti-reflective display panels, more advanced Galaxy AI features, and a few other minor upgrades. The Plus mode starts at $999, while the Ultra costs $1,199 and above. You can pre-order the new Samsung tablets here. If you pre-order through this link, we have a surprise gift for you.
