Galaxy Ring’s First Update Enhances Bluetooth, Samsung Health Stability

by | Sep 25, 2024 | Galaxy Ring, News, Updates

Galaxy Ring users, a new update is rolling out to your shiny new smart ring. Samsung is pushing the first software update to the tiny wearable. The rollout began recently and could take a while to reach all units globally. Well, the Galaxy Ring isn’t available globally yet, so in markets where it is currently sold.

Samsung released the first software update for the Galaxy Ring

The Galaxy Ring’s first software update comes with the build number Q50XWWU2AXH1. It’s a minor update with an OTA (over the air) file size of just 0.64MB. The official changelog says it improves system stability and reliability. The ring is picking up stability improvements for the Bluetooth connection. You should see fewer or no connection drops or lags.

This update also improves Samsung Health for the Galaxy Ring. There aren’t any new features or functional improvements to talk about, but the ring should offer a more stable Samsung health experience for accurate health measurement and data sync. You may not feel the changes but this update improves the app’s stability.

Samsung will gradually roll out this update for the Galaxy Ring to all users. Since the RIng doesn’t offer an interface, you must check for updates via the Galaxy Wearable app on your connected smartphone. Go to ring settings and look for software updates. If you don’t see any updates today, wait a few days and check again.

Released in late July, the Galaxy Ring is gradually expanding to more markets. Samsung recently announced its availability in Brazil, Mexico, Belgium, and the Netherlands. The company offers the ring in nine sizes, all with the same feature set but varying battery capacity. There are also rumors of two new Galaxy Rings sizes (larger), though Samsung hasn’t said anything. We will let you know if it releases additional sizes.
