Samsung’s Galaxy S24 FE is just days away from its official launch. The phone is expected to arrive this Thursday, September 26. Leaks suggest notable upgrades for the Fan Edition lineup this year, including a bigger display and a more powerful processor. It appears these upgrades will come at a cost. The S24 FE’s leaked price for the US hints at a substantial hike globally.
Galaxy S24 FE may see a price hike in the US and Europe
Over the past few weeks, we have encountered various price rumors for the Galaxy S24 FE. Some hinted at a massive hike of €100 in Europe, making it the costliest FE model yet. Most recently, a reliable source claimed the device will start at €749 in the region, €50 more than its predecessor. It appears the phone will see a similar price jump in the US, and probably the rest of the world.
The latest information comes from Onleaks, the prolific leaker behind the first 3D renders of the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. According to them, Samsung will sell the Galaxy S24 FE in two configurations in the US. The base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage will cost $649. The Galaxy S23 FE with the same configuration was priced at $599, so that’s a $50 price increase this year.
Likewise, the 8GB+256GB model will retail for $709. Interestingly, Samsung doesn’t seem to be bringing the 12GB RAM variant of the Galaxy S24 FE to the US. Or maybe the information revealed by Onleaks doesn’t tell the full story. It’s also possible that the company scrapped the higher RAM variant after initially considering it. We shall find out soon as the official launch is just days away.
As for the rest of the specs, Samsung is no longer using a two-year-old chipset on its FE phone. The Galaxy S24 FE features a slightly underclocked Exynos 2400 that powered the Galaxy S24 and S24+ in some regions. The so-called Exynos 2400e will also power the US version of the phone, the first S series model to feature Samsung’s in-house processor stateside. Stay tuned for the official later this week.
