Samsung seems to have mastered the balance between cutting-edge performance and a slim and lightweight design. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is poised to be the thinnest and lightest flagship of its class, outshining the iPhone 16 Pro Max in thickness and weight. Its ultra-slim bezels, less-protruding camera rings, and overall more refined look give the Galaxy a premium edge, making it stand out in design and elegance compared to its competition.

At just 8.2mm and 219 grams, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is thinner and lighter than the iPhone 16 Pro Max (8.3mm, 227 grams). The thickness gap widens massively when you consider the camera rings. The Samsung flagship’s cameras allegedly protrude 2.4mm out of the phone’s body. On the other hand, the iPhone’s cameras protrude a whopping 4.3mm. Around the cameras, the Galaxy measures 10.6mm while the iPhone measures 12.6mm.
On the front, the Galaxy S25 Ultra sports marginally slimmer bezels. According to Ice Universe, the new Ultra’s bezels are 0.2mm thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Its punch-hole camera cutout is also substantially smaller than the iPhone’s Dynamic Island, making for a cleaner look. Moreover, the Samsung flagship’s slightly curved design looks more premium in front of the latest iPhone, which sports an unchanged design.
Of course, a slim and lightweight design with more premium aesthetics is of no good if the phone can’t deliver a superior performance. To that end, Samsung has big things planned. The Galaxy S25 Ultra’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 could outperform Apple’s A18 Pro, while One UI 7.1 could offer a smoother experience than iOS 18. The new Ultra may also offer more RAM and a host of other upgrades. This is solid proof of Samsung’s superior hardware design and packaging advancements.
