Galaxy S25’s One UI 7.1 software development is underway

The Galaxy S25, Galayx S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra will run Android 15-based One UI 7.1 out of the box. The updated version should bring new Galaxy AI features and other enhancements. Samsung has started working on the new software tools. X user @theonecid recently spotted the first test firmware build for the new phones on Samsung’s server.

The firmware build number for the Galaxy S25 Ultra is S938USQU0AXH4. It’s S936USQU0AXH4 for the Plus and S931USQU0AXH4 for the base model. If you can read Samsung’s firmware version, these build numbers reveal the model numbers of the phones — SM-S938, SM-S936, and SM-S931, respectively. You can check out this guide for more.

Samsung should continue working on One UI 7.1 in the coming months as it prepares for the mass production of the Galaxy S25 trio. The company is also preparing to roll out new One UI 6.1/6.1.1 updates to several high-end Galaxy devices. The new feature update should go official later this week, with the Galaxy S24 expected to receive it first. It brings camera improvements and new AI features from the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6.

Additionally, Samsung is working on One UI 7.0, its Android 15 update for Galaxy devices. A beta build should debut in September. The company plans a shorter beta program this year, ensuring a timely release of the stable update. One UI 7.0 brings massive changes to the UI and systems animations, so much so that industry insiders are claiming it to be the biggest update in One UI history. Stay tuned for more about the upcoming updates.
