Galaxy A54 and More A Series Phones Spotted With Android 15

by | Aug 7, 2024 | Galaxy A, News, One UI

A few days ago, Samsung’s Galaxy A35 appeared with Android 15. It surfaced on the popular benchmarking platform Geekbench, revealing that its Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update is in development. More A series phones have since been spotted running the new Android version. We recently found similar benchmark runs for the Galaxy A53, Galaxy A54, and Galaxy A73.

Samsung continues to work on Android 15 for Galaxy devices

Galaxy phones have been visiting Geekbench with Android 15 in tow for some time now. Earlier, we mostly spotted flagship models on the platform. But as the company speeds up its One UI 7.0 development and internal testing, mid-range devices have started surfacing on the benchmarking service. The listings for the Galaxy A53, Galaxy A54, and Galaxy A73 indicate the ongoing work.

We found multiple Geekbench entries for all three models with Android 15 (h/t @walaspancha). As usual, the scores varied with each entry. The scores are of the least interest to us anyway. These benchmark entries signal a nearing launch of Samsung’s One UI 7.0 beta. The beta program will be first available for the latest flagships before expanding to mid-range models.

Rumors say the company has delayed the update to late August or early September. However, it would be working on making it available as early as possible. Samsung is reportedly facing stability issues due to the sheer amount of bugs in the current build. Hopefully, it will sort out the problems quickly and begin beta testing the upcoming big update among Galaxy users globally.

Depending on when Samsung starts the beta program, the stable One UI 7.0 update could arrive in October or November. The company has primarily focused on aesthetic improvements this time around. It’s not to say the update won’t bring any new features, though. Samsung will introduce One UI 7.1 with the Galaxy S25 series, bringing more new features.
