One UI 7.0 Beta 4 Explained: AI Camera Filters, Log Video and More

by | Feb 20, 2025 | News, One UI

Samsung today released One UI 7.0 Beta 4 for the Galaxy S24 series, bringing a series of refinements and bug fixes aimed at improving user experience. The latest update addresses UI bugs, enhances system animations, and introduces new camera features. We have detailed all major changes below.

What does Samsung’s One UI 7.0 Beta 4 bring to the table?

For starters, One UI 7.0 Beta 4 adds an AI Filter in the Camera app, enhancing photo processing and offering smarter customization for different scenes. This feature is available for all three Galaxy S24 models. However, the Log video format introduced with the Galaxy S25 Ultra is only compatible with the S24 Ultra for obvious reasons. The Ultra models have a superior camera system. Log format enables professional post-production flexibility for stunning color correction and dynamic range.

This update addresses bugs affecting the lock screen and Always-On Display (AOD), ensuring a smoother visual experience. Samsung also fixed a known issue with the quick panel interface, improving accessibility and interaction. Additionally, Samsung touts enhanced home screen stability. Earlier One UI 7.0 beta builds had issues where the top bar would disappear from the home screen.

The animation when opening and closing the recent apps screen has also been adjusted to look more natural and fluid. On top of this, Samsung addressed bugs that caused the Galaxy S24 phones to stutter when unlocking using the fingerprint scanner. The issue with alarms not grouping correctly has also been addressed for a more seamless experience.

The final entry in the changelog is a fix for the problem of a gap appearing in the status bar after installing Good Lock’s QuickStar module. However, One UI 7.0 Beta 4 brings more changes not mentioned in the changelog. Galaxy S24 users get a Nearby Devices toggle in the Quick Panel, Storage Share, and a search function in the Gallery navigation bar through Gallery Labs (h/t @thatjoshguy69).

Battery stats aren’t going global just yet

In some regions, this beta update also brings detailed battery stats, including the battery health and use cycle. This feature debuted on the Galaxy S25 series but isn’t available everywhere. Unfortunately, Samsung still hasn’t fixed the weird battery icon introduced with Beta 3. The Quick panel width also remains unchanged.

Nonetheless, Beta 4 substantially refines the One UI 7.0 experience for Galaxy S24 users. While there have been rumors about Samsung releasing Beta 5 in March and Beta 6 in April, the company recently refuted the claims, calling them speculative. Does that mean we’ll get the stable update next month, or even later this month? Only time will tell.
